These terms explain the conditions for using CouchKarma.

Using CouchKarma

CouchKarma is an independent recommendation service for movies, series, podcasts, and books. These terms apply to the service at couchkarma.com. By using CouchKarma, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please stop using the service.

You can request recommendations as a guest. Optional accounts let you save your taste and participate in group picks. You are responsible for activity through your account and for protecting access to the Google account or email address you use to sign in.

Recommendations and availability

Recommendations may use AI or a labelled starter collection. They are suggestions, not guarantees that you will enjoy a title or that it will suit every audience. Check content information before watching, listening, or reading.

Streaming availability, subscription access, episode details, and other information can change or be incomplete. Check the provider before subscribing, renting, or purchasing. CouchKarma does not sell or provide access to the recommended films, shows, podcasts, or books.

Your ratings and imports

Only submit or import information you have the right to use. You retain your rights in information you submit. You allow CouchKarma to process that information to provide the features you request, including saved taste, recommendations, and group picks, as described in our privacy policy.

Public-profile imports depend on the source service and may be incomplete or unavailable. An import is not an ongoing connection to that account. Keep your original export files if you need a separate copy of your history.

Groups

Share group invite links only with people you want to join. Anyone with the link may be able to join after signing in. Group recommendations use members’ saved taste; individual ratings are not shown to other members. A group owner can delete the group.

Acceptable use

Do not use CouchKarma unlawfully, impersonate someone else, attempt to access another person’s private information, bypass access controls or usage limits, or disrupt the service. We may restrict access when necessary to address misuse or protect the service and its users.

Other services and content

Third-party websites and providers have their own terms and privacy policies. Their titles, artwork, trademarks, and other content belong to their respective owners. A recommendation or link does not imply that a provider endorses CouchKarma.

Service limitations

CouchKarma is an evolving service provided on an as-available basis. Features may change, and interruptions or errors may occur. We do not promise uninterrupted access, complete imports, or error-free recommendations. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits rights or protections that applicable law does not allow us to exclude or limit.

Privacy and account requests

Our privacy policy explains how information is used and stored. Signing out does not delete your account or saved records. For questions about your information or to request account deletion, contact hello@couchkarma.com. We may need to verify that a request comes from the account owner.
